Fluid 0.8.4 Released
…with the Userscript bugs you guys brought to my attention:
- Fluid.app: Window is centered on launch.
- FluidInstance.app: Fix for schizophrenic Fluid SSB Growl notification Icons.
- FluidInstance.app: Fix for bug where ‘Enabled/Disabled’ state of Userscripts would not persist across application launches.

Dear Todd,
I was very excited to see the update notice this morning, and immediately updated. Sadly, I have tot report that the fix for user scripts losing their activations ate has had no effect whatsoever on my system — I still have to re-tick all users scripts after each launch with Fluid 0.8.4. Emptying the cache and uninstalling, then rreinstalling the user scripts has not changed anything about this.
Do you also happen to have changed anything about Fluid’s rendering ? Since updating, to 0.8.4 John Hicks’ OS X style spinner graphics for Google Reader is truncated vertically. Odd…
Ta a lot in advance for looking into this !

Aw shucks, that was hitting the enter the button way to early. My apologies for the typos

Ah, forget my last remark : seems Google shuffled things around in Reader again, that should account for the broken styling. Wish I could say something similar about user script state stickiness

I’d love a way to send links from the current fluid SSB to Safari without activating Safari.
In particular when I click on an item (or use ‘v’) in my Google Reader SSB I’d like the link to open a new tab in Safari in the background. Then once I’ve scanned all my feeds I just pop into Safari to read whatever tabs I opened.
Also, for some reason when using ‘v’ to open a link (but not when clicking a link) in the Google Reader SSB a new window is opened in the SSB which is either empty or the home URL depending on the SSB preference for new windows. The actual article opens in Safari.
Thanks for Fluid in any case!

I’ve published some fluid scripts for campfire at http://giantrobots.thoughtbot.com/2008/3/6/fluid-campfire-scripts
These scripts place menu items on the doc, do growl notifications, and load alternate stylesheets. Hopefully they serve as good examples for future scripts.
